A debut album from composer / arranger Nick Purnell that brings together a line-up of wonderful musicians from across the British Jazz scene, along with Peter Erskine as a special guest. The compositions are structured to bring the many soloists to the fore and have a sense of humour that is distinctly British. 'Onetwothree' is the recording debut of guitarist Mike Walker and features some stunning performances by Julian Argüelles, John Taylor and as Peter Erskine noted on 'Yes or No', one of THE best Kenny Wheeler solos’. In a ‘pinch me’ moment, Oregon bassist Glen Moore recorded Nick’s ‘Pretty Red Truck’ with singer Nancy King and piano hero, Art Lande and Nick has also received commissions from Liverpool’s ‘Unity Theatre’, Birmingham Jazz. And on the subject of heroes, three of Nick's compositional heroes are also to be heard - Mike Gibbs, John Taylor and of course, Kenny Wheeler.
